How the copy book is scored
Performers assume you bought and sold the same share count on the insider’s trade dates, at the first close on or after each trade date from the same prices/ file used to mark leftovers. A reported Form 4/SEDI fill is only a check that the print belongs on that tape: if it is more than 50% from that close, the lot is skipped (dual-listed or ADR mismatch). Same-day fills on one name that disagree by more than 50% keep only the cluster within 20% of the close. Sales close the oldest lots first. Open leftovers are marked to the last close on file. Rank is total dollar P&L. Percent is P&L ÷ cash spent on buys. Filers with under $1,000 of priced buys are skipped.
Active traders are ranked by print count. Active names are ranked by how many officer prints hit that ticker. Not a recommendation. Not the officer’s actual P&L — they may have other lots, options, and taxes.
How repeatable is scored
Open-market buys only — Form 4 code P and SEDI nature 10. Awards, option exercises, gifts, private or prospectus prints, and sales are out. Copy the print on the public filing date at the first prices/ close on or after that day (10-day slack). Score the 30 / 90 / 180-day close after that. Same officer, ticker, and filing date collapse to one copy so split lots do not count twice.
Average return is the equal-weight mean of per-ticker means, so one name cannot dominate. Hit rate is the share of those copy trades that finished up. Floor is five clustered open-market buys in the last 18 months that also complete the selected horizon. Scheduled Form 4 10b5-1 buys are dropped before that floor. Vs ticker is the copy’s return minus the same name from the insider’s trade-date close to the same exit. Rank is average return, then hit rate. Officers who also clear 70% 90-day hit and a positive average sit on Follow — one company is enough. Not a recommendation.
How the follow list is chosen
Follow / Best is the same 90-day repeatable ranking — open-market buys only, clustered by officer / ticker / filing date, copied on the public filed date, equal-weight by name — plus two trust cutoffs: 90-day hit rate ≥ 70% and average 90-day return above zero. The N=5 buy floor is already in the ranking. Officers who only print at one company still qualify. Scheduled Form 4 10b5-1 / trading-plan buys do not count toward that floor.
Officers whose remaining Form 4 market prints are mostly scheduled-plan lots sort below discretionary peers. Rank then prefers size versus remaining Table I stake (conviction). Plan prints still alert, under discretionary lots on the same filed day. The daily job writes insider-follow.json. Browser notifications need a one-time Notify grant. Not a recommendation.
